Active Fraud Shield is a trustworthy and sophisticated internet stream filter that detects, displays and blocks almost all fraud attempts. It is designed for the PayPal online payment service in order to protect PayPal accounts against phishing and fraud. Active Fraud Shield is a proxy program, scanning all internet traffic for detection of PayPal phishing or fraud. The utility uses special rules and a special detection engine. It both blocks dangerous sites and/or informs the user about them. The utility features a number of customization options allowing the user to create new everyday rules for detecting potential PayPal phishing, add own blacklists, set the frequency of update. The program has a special Blacklist that works with the lists of sites, found and named by Google and Phistank. Besides that, Active Fraud Shield allows the user to create own Blacklists or Whitelists by adding new URL, IP or other sources.
The program gets all information directly from PayPal. Active Fraud Shield features exclusive heuristics and proven parallel services, such as Phishtank. Compared to usual phishing and fraud detectors built into IE, FireFox or Opera, Active Fraud Shield is the No.1 PayPal account protector, as it offers filled blacklists. Different phishing and fraud sites arise every day, so there is a need for constant search for such sites and adding them to the blacklist. Active Fraud Shield uses a special Heuritsic and Site Analyze System that carefully traces new sites and adds them automatically. The program also has a special, permanently updated IP List that checks the sites against the official PayPal IP lists. Active Fraud Shield is a pleasure to work with thanks to its transparency and simplicity.
