Description: Textpad is a replacement for the Windows Notepad that runs in the system tray. It isn't intended to be a high-powered programmers editor, like some Notepad replacements. Textpad's aim is to be Notepad with several extra convenience features. It's a better, faster, more convenient tool for viewing and editing text files and making notes.
If you need to make a note of something you can just pop up a new Textpad window with a click of the mouse. If you need to save your notes it's just as simple. Click one button, type a title for the file and it will be saved in a special Textpad folder in "My Documents".
Text files stored in this folder can be loaded instantly picking the title from Textpad's pop-up tray icon menu. Of course, you can use a regular "File Save" dialog and save text files in any other folder if you wish.
Textpad can associate itself with any text file type and become the default application for that file type if you wish. It will store preferences for each file type such as word wrap and tab width. It also remembers the window position and size for files you open frequently.
Another cool feature of Textpad is the encryption button that lets you encrypt your notes before saving so that others can't read them. Don't forget your encryption key!
Tech-Pro Textpad requires the Tech-Pro Utilities Startup package to be installed. This package contains the run-time files that are required by Textpad. Tech-Pro Utilities are donationware - if you like them, donate a few dollars. | Short tags: Windows, desktop, system tray, notepad, editor, text editor | System Requirements: Requires Tech-Pro Utilities Startup package | Change Info: Minor bug fix | |
