Shutdown Vaccine® is a powerful utility that automates the shut down, log off reboot and many Windows functions. It acts as a traffic cop allowing certain tasks to functions at predefined times. Furthermore, Its built-in Power-Smart technology can shut down your computer if it is inactive for a specified period of time (idle-time).
Shutdown Vaccine also allows you to perform remote shutdowns for Networked PC's. Furthermore, Shutdown Vaccine supports command-line operations, as well as creation of batch files for any selected action.
DESIGNED FOR COMPUTER LABS AND PUBLIC ACCESS PC'S
Shutdown Vaccine can automate most PC power related tasks. ie. perform a nightly shutdown of computers in a computer lab. Rather than having to go to each computer individually, you can configure Shutdown Vaccine to turn off each workstation at a particular time or date. Saving computer administrators from having to perform the same manual tasks.
POWER SAVINGS
By incorporating smart shutdown policies - Schools, businesses and libraries reduce their computer electricity usage by over 30 per cent.... A typical desktop PC uses about 65 watts. Add another 80 watts for a 17" CRT monitor (35 watts for an LCD). To put this into perspective, a light bulb uses about 75 watts. So a typical computer uses about 1.5 to 2 light bulbs' worth of energy.
