Description: FirstDefense-ISR is an Instant System Recovery solution that has been designed for enterprise and mid-range servers and mission critical workstations, running Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003 operating systems. FirstDefense-ISR functions transparently and allows administrators to quickly restore their systems to any complete predefined configuration. No special hardware is required. Furthermore, you do not require special CMOS, or additional disk partitions to be created. FirstDefense-ISR works on single or multi-partitioned systems, fully supporting RAID 0, 0+1, 5, and/or in clustering environments.
FirstDefense-ISR performs full-system backups for the purpose of immediate system recovery. The concept was developed as a result of years of listening to IT professionals concerned about having to deal with non-recoverable Windows blue screens, service pack installs going awry, and critical files becoming corrupted. These occurrences render the system unbootable and data is inaccessible until the problem is repaired.
FirstDefense-ISR periodically (and transparently) takes snapshots of the current state of the user’s system and applications software. It has the capability of storing up to ten point-in-time snapshots. Following a system crash, the user can immediately fall back to the most recent and uncorrupted snapshot. This reduces the MTTR to virtually zero and enables users and IT staff to instantly repair system crashes without the loss of productivity that results from extensive downtime.
Ability to create and maintain up to 10 "point-in-time" system snapshots. Each snapshot is bootable with no rebuild required.
Differential (changed files only) copy engine for fast snapshot updates.
Data Anchoring feature makes data files available to any snapshot that is booted.
Ability to create a compressed snapshot using NTFS file compression for a significantly smaller snapshot.
Ability to archive snapshots to another device. | Short tags: firstdefense, first defense, firstdefense-ISR, reboot restore, freeze, anchored data, public access, snapshot technology, instant recovery, restore software, recovery software, disaster recovery, high availability, continuous data backup, backup | |

You always have access to any document and file and can instantly search your data archive. However, this approach is potentially quite risky, as nobody is insured against unexpected hardware crashes, power failures, software glitches and own mistakes that often lead to tragic
- Continuous Data Protection (CDP) - the very best of backup technologies at your service With so many backup tools and techniques available on the market today, the choice of the right one becomes quite difficult. However, when it comes to ultimate backup solutions that leave no chance to conventional data backup tools, the choice is quite limited. If you are seeking an application that will help you create the most complete, accurate and fast backups possible, make no mistake
- RemBoot - The Remote Reboot Utility. Serious work with remote Windows servers sometimes suffers from lack of control over those servers. Of course, letting just about ANYBODY to control your server is not the greatest idea. But the owner and administrator of the server often feel that their hands are tied when the computer is miles away, the support team is fast asleep and unlikely to respond quickly to a pager, and all that
- Reboot Service - ad hoc control over the stability of remote servers If the stability of your corporate network or the proper operation of your clients applications depends on how your server performs, its uninterrupted work and long uptime should be your primary areas of concern. Whenever your servers memory is full, memory overflow errors cause the server to perform poorly or lead to complete freezing. In these cases, being close
- Titan Backup: Save It before Disaster Strikes Life throws at us lots of surprises, and not all of them are fun. An example of such not-so-great «surprise» is the loss of valuable data. Despite all the encouragement we hear about backing up what we value, we fail to follow the advice; mainly because the backup routine is often too sophisticated and the performance of backup and recovery utilities leaves
- Backup prOxy Server. Backup belongs to the past - The future is in recovery! Solutions for data backup and recovery are the frequent theme of reviews, and this frequency has an explanatory background: there is not a more important task than keeping corporate or personal vital data in a safe place. But this task (backup, namely) has one less commonly discussed aspect: what is the *overall purpose* of data backup? Dont answer immediately; let?s think. The common
- Data Recovery Wizard - unprecedented recovery efficiency at a price you can afford Lost or damaged data often cause problems that are incomparably more serious than any hardware failure. A hardware unit can be quickly replaced, but information that was lost or damaged can be invaluable and such an accident can potentially bring your business to a complete halt.
