InfoSnorkel is a Windows application that makes it easy to create your own custom, up-to-date personal news page. Gathering information automatically from the Internet and from local text documents, InfoSnorkel compiles and formats the latest headlines, stock quotes, sports news, competitive intelligence, project status, and any information that you can find on the web or on your LAN. InfoSnorkel saves you time by gathering all of the information that you regularly access into a single, always up-to-date web page. Running in the background, InfoSnorkel looks at each Internet source as frequently as you want, and grabs just the information you need for the personal web page that you design. Choose from more than 4,000 information sources on the Internet, or identify your own web pages, and add them to your personal page, in whatever format you prefer. In addition to creating a custom-designed web page with all of your personalized information, InfoSnorkel can email the information, send it to your pager or cell phone, or write it to a text file. InfoSnorkel gives you complete control over the content that you add to your personal page. You capture only those parts of Internet pages that interest you, and you can place the captured information anywhere on your personal page. You set explicit update schedules for getting fresh information from the web. Once you've set up InfoSnorkel to capture the information you need, it runs quietly in the Windows system tray. You use Internet Explorer 5 or newer to view your personal page. It's easy to learn to use InfoSnorkel.
