Description: How to Use a KitchenAid Immersion Blender-I just ordered my second KitchenAid KHB100 to replace the one I've had for several years. The old one is still going strong, but somehow the power cord was damaged to the point that I could see the copper wires, so I figured better safe than sorry.
In any case, this is a very powerful blender with a 200-watt motor. Despite its power, it's relatively light and easy to hold since it plugs in and has a long, heavy-duty power cord. Because it doesn't have a bulky battery, there's no unsightly charger to take up counter space, and no worry about running out of power while you're using it. The speed setting is adjustable over a wide range, up to 10,000 RPM if I recall correctly, making it perfect for a variety of tasks.
I use the hand blender frequently to do things such as blend some or all of a pot of soup to make it smooth and creamy, to combine sauce ingredients, to make dressings and salsa, etc. Virtually anything you can do in a regular blender can be done more quickly and with a lot less fuss and muss with a hand blender (well, maybe not crush ice). The power unit easily detaches from the stainless shaft and blade unit, which is dishwasher safe.
