Z-Cron ist eine zentrale Schaltstelle für die Automatisierung von Software. Neben dem zeitgesteuerten Start von Anwendungen, enthält das Programm zahlreiche Tools die helfen, die automatische Systemverwaltung zu erleichtern. Mit dem Z-Cron Tool lassen sich unter WIN2000/XP/Vista/NT (mit SP6), ähnlich dem Unix Cron, Programme (*.exe, *.com, *.bat) zeitgesteuert ausführen oder/und beenden. Z-Cron kann über die Autostart-Funktion oder als System-Dienst (nur NT/2000/XP/Vista/2003) geladen und gestartet werden. Status-Meldungen können über den Microsoft Nachrichtendienst oder als Email (per SMTP) verschickt werden. Das Programm startet nicht nur andere Anwendungen, sondern kann auch Popup-Fenster mit Erinnerungstexten auf den Bildschirm holen oder das System zeitgesteuert herunterfahren oder den Computer in den Ruhezustand versetzen (mit der Möglickeit ihn nach einer bestimmten Zeitspanne wieder zu aktivieren). Die RunAS Option ermöglicht Z-Cron das starten von Programmen mit anderen Berechtigungen. Alles in Allem ist Z-Cron ein hervorragendes Werkzeug, dessen Einsatz vor allem für Nutzer der Geplanten Tasks in Windows XP von Vorteil ist. Die zahllosen, integrierten Kommandos lassen keine Wünsche offen; und wenn doch: Eine eigene Batch-Datei kann den fehlenden Befehl meist ersetzen, lässt sich gut anpassen und außerdem leicht einbinden. | Short tags:
