In our normal «text-based digital life» we have one (or a couple of) programs to organize all those different texts we have — e-mail messages and IM conversations, notes and to-dos, diaries, etc. But ***when we try to talk instead of typing, we always stumble over the problem: how to record and remember phone calls, meeting or conference, or just the thoughts we mutter during the day but always forgive to write down somewhere?
Now there is a solution for that, a place where we can write and organize all the voice data we want to remember. The program from CyTeG is called Atropos-SB.*** It can record many channels (up to 16 simultaneously) and compress the recorded sound on-the-fly. Thus, with as little as 50 Mb of space on HDD, you can write up to 7-8 hours of thoughts and conversations.
Moreover, Atropos-SB has a handy «Voice Activation» feature, which triggers the sound recording to start only when there is a certain level of input signal. You can also connect a voice modem or phone with a «line out» and record those talks too.
The recorded sounds are organized in the database by date, time, length, channel, and optional comment. With a special plugin from CyTeG, you can even automatically add a recognized phone number for each call.
With Atropos-SB you can always proof the statements like «Jim told me this in the Thirsday’s phone call».
