SAMInside is a useful program for system administrators and advanced users, which allows recovering Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 users passwords when they are forgotten or lost. Its designed to work fast, effectively, and in any place.
No installations or other preparatory procedures are required; the program will work at once, from any CD, diskette, USB flash drive, or any other media. It allows importing user data (user name and hash of the password to be recovered) from any of ten formats (either Windows system files or files created by other user info recovery software) and running any of six types of «attacks» to find the password for selected users. There are different attacks from «brute-force» to modern refined «pre-calculated tables». SAMInsides most unique feature is its capability to restore passwords encrypted with SYSKEY (the encryption on
SAM-Security Account Manager file, which is encrypted by default in Windows 2000 and newer operating systems).
After the «attacks» are complete, you will have the table of user names and passwords recovered for each user. You can use this data for further restoration of the users account or exporting it to a common data formats for saving. There would be 2 types of passwords «LM» and «NT» which can differ in capitalization, but are both acceptable.
