The game known as «Boulder Dash» or «Rockford» originates from 1984 the good old times of ZX Spectrums, when one diskette, 16 colors and PC Speaker were really ENOUGH for playing really COOL games. Todays people, with their «strategies» and «3D-shooters» cant even imagine what it was. For Those Who Remember, as well as for Those Who Want to Feel what it was todays Boulder Dash, with cognate pictures and sounds redone for large colorful screens and rich sounds.
In Boulder Dash plot, your protagonist is a small «prospector», digging through labyrinths on different levels in search of diamonds. There are several «good» and «bad» objects in the labyrinth, which can kill your prospector or make him rich and happy. Your goal is a mix of logic (you must dig your ways avoiding the murder by large stones) and intuition (the stones you have demolished can shut all your ways) and speed (you must run fast enough to avoid killer objects) and attentiveness (you must find all diamonds on the level).
There are 16-level labyrinths in the game, which exactly correspond to levels of the original Boulder Dash. There are also some modern goodies, like window or full-screen game, controlled speed, modern colors and sounds. | | | Learn more about Boulder Dash… |
