DIY (stands for Do-It-Yourself) is a really big overall world trend of the last years. Doing something yourself from the scratch is not always an easy task, but the outcome is worth the efforts. Things made by hands just *have more of life in them*, compared to things you can buy in shopping centers.
In the computer era, doing something by hand is really easy: programming, writing blogs and articles, designing websites — all those activities of net workers are also available to a home-sitting person with no special education. But a computer can be very useful for the *real-world DIY*, because doing any uncommon things requires experience (information) gathering, organizing and sharing, and these are just the things computers are really good for.
Here is what I’m talking about: the amusing software named Home Brew Log. As you could easily suppose, it targets home beer brewers, helping them with logging all the details of the process. It is really important as the brewing process lasts for weeks, and you really need some good tool for remembering what recipes and conditions were used for obtaining such good (or such bad) result. So, Home Brew Log allows you to write down all the stages, from selecting the recipe through estimating the quality.
