The purpose of this small utility is to provide your system with the ability to navigate quickly anywhere you like with a single mouse click. At any place, at any dialog box where files and folders are displayed you can simply right-click and browse your disk entirely through popup menus representing folders. Meta Commander is extremely convenient to use; for example, imagine standard «Open» or «Save As» dialog boxes — there is no need for long series of double-clicks to change a folder, just few mouse movements and everything is OK.
The good idea is developed in the effective way: there are some convenient «Special folders» in Meta Commander menu, such as «Folders History», «Favorite Folders», and also «Virtual folders» containing only some filtered files — for example, only «.doc» or only «.xls» files. These virtual folders are available while a user is looking for some special file in a folder that might contain hundreds of them. Moreover, this utility offers a user an interesting feature named customizable click. It means that you can click on the same folder or file menu to open them in a different manner. Let?s say for example, «Ctrl + click» would open the file with your favorite editor and «Shift + click» would browse the current folder using other file manager (Total Commander). All these actions are fully customizable and depend on your own taste.
