ConteXt is effective, highly scalable, and industrial-strength DBMS with an innovative data model. Rapid application development environment, which is included in ConteXt, allows you to speed up the development of complex data-manipulating applications. The powerful, but lightweight, engine makes possible any usage of the system, from embedded one-user DB to large solutions with hundreds of simultaneous connections. ConteXt is meant for small and medium business applications which need complex on-line data manipulation. It implements an innovative «context» approach to data manipulation, which allows you to support a wide range of data models, from traditional relational models to modern object-oriented and network ones. The system can easily access any source of information, including other DBMSes. It also works in any Windows or Unix/Linux system. There is no need for client installation; a client is free to use either direct LAN connection (for example, with telnet protocol) or browser-based interactive work through the Internet. The software also provides a number of useful tools such as FileManager, Database and Form Builders, and Text and Binary editors.
