Index Your Files (IYF), version «Revolution!», is an ultra-fast, ultra-small and ultra-portable application for indexing file system objects (files and folders) on a single computer or LAN. Additionally, it features very slick and highly understandable user interface.
When you run Index Your Files, you can set up any number of «databases» (containing file indexes) with any number of folders indexed in each database. The program will create indexes for each of the folders (its a very SHORT process), and then you can search all the paths youve indexed.
For example, you can add all your logical disks or only folders with valuable content to index. For every index container you can also set up whether it is to be updated, so new files would become available for searching automatically.
IYF searches by fragments of file or folder names (wildcards are available), their properties (like time or size) or contents (for text files). The search completes almost instantly, providing you with comprehensive results you can preview right inside the program.
Besides all *good* features of Index Your Files described above, there is also a *revolutionary* one: using the «Shared database», several users in a network can use the same index (physically placed onto only one computer), where *all* files and folders across the network are enumerated. | | | Learn more about Index Your Files - Revolution… |
