Courier is a personal e-mail program, which combines pretty and easy interface with smart-features-when-they-are-necessary. It looks completely familiar to average user, but it can satisfy an fastidious one also.
Courier provides you with the ingenious concept of the single-file mailbox, which stores all of your account settings, preferences, mails and addresses and all that is easily transferred between computers (for ex., home and office, or desktop and laptop). The mailbox can include any number of accounts (i.e., your e-mails on different servers) with high customization capacities, up to different mail checking intervals for different accounts.
Courier’s major functions can be described as «usual, but a bit clever». For example, all e-mails can be tagged with informative color labels. When reading a received message, you can with a single click switch between plain text and HTML view (which, in turn, is security-customizable, like «don’t run ActiveX» or «don’t load external images» settings); you can even EDIT your INCOMING messages, as you may need them as reference information, and thus require better readability. When composing a message, you can set it up to be sent to several persons separately (mail-list like functionality), or schedule the message to be sent later at specified time.
When you define message filters, you can also do some fun things, like automatically convert HTML->text (with HTML deletion).
Of course, all the regular e-mail functionality (attachments, auto-responders, signatures, …) is also available.
