CiDess is freeware, easy-to-use, not-resource-greedy printed circuit board drawing and layouting software. CiDess brightly stands out against huge over-bloated software suits for its clear-and-simple interface, fast-and-pretty drawing and yet having some very advanced capabilities.
CiDess ease of use comes from its four simple operating modes: placing components, drawing tracks, modifying components, and group operations. In each mode, it shows only a limited number of controls, applicable for current mode, so in each moment youre staying with a very small number of items to be taken into account.
When creating a component, you can see it in 3 projections, change its rotation angle and pad sizes, and select the side the component goes on (single-sided, two-sided or cms are all supported). When several components are placed on the board, its easy to connect them with tracks, change their parameters or do something with the entire group. When your scheme is ready, you can do a bunch of things with it. You can print it (the entire layout, or only the PCB of either side), export to image file (with the same options) or create a web page with the scheme and its parameters. You can even see the scheme with all components visualized in full 3D, or export to 3G file!
Besides the described, CiDess has a very clear new components editor and *.cid files organizing/search engine.
