I think, plain text (txt) editing is NOT a rocket science. So, a plain text editor should be like something errr so small and simple, and easy, and always in touch. But when I see something as «small and simple» as the standard Windows Notepad, tears are coming out; that is, definitely, an over-simplification case. Faithfully, this «pad for notes» can do almost nothing.
The new idea is: I want something small and easy, but let this something have a bit of magic inside, allow me to have all I need for text editing, and yet stay small and simple enough.
And my todays choice for «something with a bit of magic» is NoteMagic!
This brilliant «magic for notes» (instead of the old boring «pad») allows opening any number of files simultaneously and switching between them. To open a file, you can simply drop it on the programs window or select it from the «last files» or «favorites» lists. Edited files can be printed with extended options and sent via e-mail with a single click.
Those files can be of virtually any size, and the number of ways you can work with them is much greater than in «standard» text editor. There are unlimited undo and redo actions, several convenient view settings (like alignment, word wrapping, fonts and colors), special character insertion (just like in Word!). There is even a spell-checker!
And all of those functions are «on their places» handy, laconic and pretty looking. The real magic, you know.
