Alarm++ is a smart solution capable of reminding you to do something or even do something on its own. Speaking in technical words, it’s a hybrid of a scheduler and reminder; speaking in human words, it’s a way to organize all your regular or upcoming events at once.
The heart of Alarm++’s functionality consists of two rather simple things: When To Do and What To Do. But if we look closer, those things don’t seem to be «simple» at all: they are *easy to use*, but very, very customizable.
As for the When To Do thing, you can setup an alarm event time, and the logic of repeating the event. All of that is done in three not overcomplicated tabs.
On the General tab, you set the event time and offset for the alarm related to the event (it’s much smarter to set «meeting is at 18:00, remind me 15 minutes before it», than just «remind me at 17:45»). On the Repeat tab, you set the recurrence period, and repeating limits (never, forever, X times…). On the Advanced tab, you can setup additional conditions (like time, day, week, month when the event should and should not reoccur; for example, «alarm only Tuesday-Friday 9:00-18:00», or just «alarm only at work time»).
As for the What To Do aspect, Alarm++ can do a huge bunch of things for your. It can be both an «alarming» thing (show window with reminder, beep or play sound file) and an «action» thing (run any system command or send mail).
