Work time tracking software isn’t something exclusive. But anyone who has tried using any program of such kind knows a number of nuances involved in this process. TimeGuard Pro stands out for being brief and non-obtrusive when it’s vital for the normal work and being comprehensive and full-featured where it is appropriate. There are two major parts in it: editing the database (all those projects, task types, clients, employees, currencies, you know) and tracking the runtime. When you are editing the database, there are many options and a variety of types. You can, for example, set a regular or per-project task, set different project payment options (per-hour, fixed, retainer), and do much more.
TimeGuard’s runtime behavior is very smart. It allows the quick entry of real-time tasks (like «I’m starting to work, please count time») and manual tasks («I’ve worked on the task from … through …»), and the expenses due. The program quick-checks employees’ work status by showing a prompt like «are you still doing task A?», automatically detects the computer’s idle and stand-by time. Tasks can be paused, and fast-switched («I’ve done A, then distracted to B, then got back to A»).
