Let me throw in a few indisputable facts for the beginning: First, if you’ve got anything valuable on your computer, you must back it up to protect yourself against unfortunate events. Second, backing things up by hand (in other words, just doing the «don’t forget to copy those and those files every week» thing) is not a solution, simply because it will never be done. And third, should you decide to use any special backup software, that software must be very easy and natural to go with; otherwise, it will be simply ignored as well.
These are the major issues why I’d like to recommend SecondCopy for your backup purposes. First of all, it is ultimately clear, simple, and quick with creating backup tasks (known as «profiles»). When you create a new profile, it will just ask you to point at «What?», «Where?» and «When?» to backup. That’s it; just a few clicks, and you’ve got a new regular and reliable backup solution.
Despite of this simplicity, SecondCopy is full-strength backup software. It allows customizing the backup method, letting you to choose whether to compress or even encrypt all files to be backed up. Other than that, it can synchronize the backup source and destination precisely.
The application’s «When» setting has a very convenient «When files are changed» option.
You can backup data to a local or network disk or to an FTP server, keeping up to 25 old backups…
