DVD — what a great thing it is! It can store a whole lot of video. It takes so little of space on your shelf. It is so easy to share even through the regular mail. And it «lives» almost forever, compared to good old video tape.
The only trouble I recall thinking of DVD is that it takes so much of effort to get a movie off a tape and burn it on a disc: capture video from a camcorder, convert it to the format required by the standard, create a DVD menu, and, finally, burn the whole thing to a disc.
