FreeKapture 2.00, Just Scan It!

Once upon a time, Rudyard Kipling wrote: «Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet». 100 years later, the same problem (of where and how software and hardware shall meet) has brought us the TWAIN technology. It’s an industrial standard of how any image scanner should behave: if you have a scanner, it definitely can run as a TWAIN device.
OK, every scanner can work the standard way, but which software are you to use in order to access those standard devices? Many huge software suits (like MS Office or Adobe Photoshop) have that option, but what if you only need to load something quickly, scan, save and close? Than take FreeKapture, it’s small, easy and free!
FreeKapture shows a window familiar to anyone who has scanned something: you know, select the device (or use the only available), do the Preview, see what we have, set the part to be scanned, press Scan! Easy enough, controllable enough, habitual enough. FreeKapture also has some friendly extras on «what you can do with the scanned image».
