Those of us, who are used to investigate and install more and more, and more new programs (including me) are also used to forget something. Namely, being accustomed to looking for program for any task, we are looking for cool, and non-standard, and full-featured monsters, forgetting that some tasks can be solved with well-done default windows software, or, at least, on its base.
Look at this very Birthday Reminder. I assure you, just one small window is all you need from a custom birthday reminder. Why? Because you’ve forgotten you already have many goodies between your Windows default software. Namely, you have Windows Address Book. Consider this as a right place for storing all your contacts. OK, having all contacts stored there, with all their important dates, now you need only a small Birthday Reminder for being *reminded* of those dates!The small goodie is just a list of today’s and upcoming birthdays (including ages calculated), and several options concerning the program itself and reminders appearance. The program takes an idea of using Windows default abilities even further: it proposes Windows default sound scheme editor for setting reminder sounds.
