Internet advertising can’t be called a very positive thing. OK, somebody can say that it is a good way for site owners to earn money, but site owners together with advertisers too often go too far with that. Even static banners can harm you, when they are too gaudy to read the page comfortably; but there are numerous kinds of advertisements which are much more annoying. Animated pictures, flash movies, popup windows, «rich media» banners jumping all OVER the page content… Why should you suffer from these «helpful» advertisements? Of course you shouldn’t. AdBlock Pro is an addon for Internet Explorer (both versions 6 and 7) which provides strong and accurate methods for virtual filtering all known types of advertisements. It blocks popup windows, even the most tricky ones (but not «good» popups). It allows you to block any element on the page, even complex ones like flash and embedded ActiveX object or fly-in ads; you can also filter any content by its address (common «*» wildcards are supported).
