Jack-o's Revenge 1.9, Wild Power of Retro

The progress of computer games sometimes tends to be too univocal. «Everybody knows», what is «old and boring» and what is «new and cool»; Sometimes I just want to cry: All of your new cool games are not what I want! But the games I’ve loved are «sooo 80’s», that there’s almost no hope to have those «retro» ideas in a modern cover, with today’s graphics and those-days logic. So, if you think just like me, you’ll be happy to spend several days with Jack-o’s Revenge, which is exactly an Old Good Arcade Platformer, but with modern graphics and sound and such things.
Jack-o’s author, of course, has some «story of personage», but who cares? Instead, we care the personage itself: a jumping Halloween pumpkin, guiding his way through the Dark Underground, with spiders, bats, beetles — all of them (and many others) are, of course, Evil Enemies, you’ll kill them (by jumping on the head!) or be killed. It’s a really good platformer, with levels full of fighting, jumping, finding the ways; with many artifacts to collect and use when fighting the enemies; with obligatory 2-player mode. Finally, it’s just a platformer: with modern graphics, with cool music and sound effects, but with exciting well-balanced retro-platformer game play, which is the most important!
