Farkle is a dice game which originated in folklore. In fact, the game is very special because successful play is a result of both chance and foresight: you have a huge degree of freedom during your turn; the game rules describe many variants of scoring. It’s up to you to decide which of six dices to score and which continue to throw further. Only foresight and intuition can help you: if you stop your turn, you risk getting too low score; if you throw the remaining dices, you risk getting nothing, which is «farkling» and you lose all your points… Amazing!
Absolute Farkle is just an amazing embodiment of an amazing game. It works on MacOS X and allows you to play against a computer opponent or against a human partner (unlike «just logic» games like chess, Farkle gives the win to a lucky gambler but not to the one who makes more calculations-per-second). The game process can be controlled with a mouse or keyboard, or even with your own voice! Also, the game can give you a text or voice hint in key moments. Besides «just playing», Absolute Farkle can do absolutely everything about the game process: teach you the rules, save, load games and start them from some concrete points etc. Full statistics are kept and allow you to study your games.
