How one control the computer’s usage? Yes, this question is too wide. How can one control the *public* computer’s usage? If the number of users is limited, the admin can create an account for each user and control them. However, this approach hides some problems: Sometimes there are no permanent users, only the «accidental» ones; sometimes the Windows’ built-in user restrictions are insufficient; sometimes there is a need to control not only the access rights, but also the time the computer has been used for. All of these problems can be solved with the specialized software. But what if you (the administrator) need to control just *a couple* of public computers? Would you need to edit settings on each workplace individually? Is that the most rational way of doing the job?
Answer is: There is a *clever* way of controlling a couple of public computers, and this way’s name is WinLock RemoteAdministrator. It works as follows: you install WinLock (or WinLock Professional) on every computer to be controlled, then install WinLock RemoteAdministrator on the admin’s computer. You can now change settings for each WinLock copy remotely: disable or enable system-wide hotkeys and Windows features (for example, the Start menu items), restrict access to particular files, folders and applications, set time limits and so on. You can even enforce some Internet restrictions on the machines controlled with WinLock Professional.
