Power Folder is an application for synchronizing files and folders, which stands out of the crowd for its rich and yet extremely well-organized capabilities. It works through both LAN and the Internet, and can do many smart tricks — but the very first thing that will surprise you will be how handy it is to operate with the program.
During the first application’s start, you’ll be met by PowerFolder’s Wizard, where you will immediately see the principles of the program’s operation. PowerFolder is rather social; it works like creating a synchronization task at one point, and then joining it at others. This metaphor goes further with PowerFolder’s users network, concept of friends and other social features.
As of synchronization types, there are three common ones, which you’ll see in the Wizard: Two-Way Mirror, File Sharing, and Synchronization Over Project. A great number of PowerFolder’s features are so well organized that you will see the majority of settings only at the moment when you really need them; and still, you have a really flexible tool.
PowerFolder is capable of maintaining the unlimited number of «synchronization profiles»; it allows you to include and exclude any parts of data, compress downloaded and uploaded data on-the-fly.
