Microsoft Windows Registry is an interesting and useful, but unappreciated thing. Tons of wonderful system enhancements could be achieved without any «special» software: All you would need in the majority of cases is to know, which value in the registry is to be changed, and where it is hidden. Or, as a very good alternative, you would have to use software, with which your registry became a simple and obvious thing: RegOrganizer.
With the software (by the way, it has a rather won-der-ful and usable user interface) you can, for example, «cleanup» your registry. This action would not only reduce your disk usage (remember, your registry is only a disk file), but also erase such really annoying disturbing things as software that runs at the system startup, lines and phrases in the system menus (Open With:) and so on. You would *feel* how your system becomes cleaner.
Besides the cleanup (manual or automatic deletion of the «invalid» entries of many kinds), RegOrganizer provides the «system tweak» features those things Ive talked about above, when you need to change some values in the registry but dont know how to or where they are. Numerous parameters can be switched off/on through the RegOrganizer dialog: For example, you can remove the «special» shortcuts from the Start menu (like Run, Help, or Windows Update), which normally cannot be removed.
And moreover, the software carries a «sane» registry editor, much more convenient then standard regedit.exe, also ini file editor and software install/uninstall tool.
