Typical software or paper-based «intelligence tests» are a one-time thing; once you’ve run through a test, the next run will show incorrect results. Moreover, once you’ve run through one of intelligence tests, other similar ones will also become «inappropriate» for you. That’s because of the usual approach to intelligence testing: a set of static constant puzzles and questions — you see them, you think on them, and next time you’ll be familiar with the answer. RIT system is Something Completely Different: its abbreviated name stands for Random Intelligence Test.
In short, while testing you, RIT generates a series of puzzles of equal complexity; those puzzles are very much like the classic Lines game, the only difference is that RIT uses your behavior patterns in the game for calculating your intelligence quotient. The more rounds you take, the more accurate results will be generated. Nevertheless, you can just as well be satisfied with a one- or two-round result.
The pros of the RIT approach to testing intelligence are evident: because you always get different puzzles, you can take the test as many times as you wish. Other than that, the process itself is a lot of fun, so you may want to take many rounds and obtain a more accurate measurement. RIT also allows you to publish your results in the common rating table on the software’s website.
