Our phones haven’t always dialed with tone that we are used to today. Before the sixties, that was pulse (and still IS in some places and countries), a series of clicks, which was about as many clicks as the dialed digit was. Tone dialing (correctly called Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency, or DTMF) is about an individual tone for each digit; it is faster, more reliable and allows dialing automatically with nothing else but just your computer speakers. You can install DTMF Dial and broadcast dial tones straight to your phone’s microphone. It allows you to have the easiest to operate and cheapest auto-dialer possible and also to automate your interactions with boring «dial menus» of many inhumane services.
DTMF Dial is incredibly small and easy to use, yet has some additional smart features you’ll be happy to see. Numbers to be dialed may include digits, A-D keys, «Humphries» (* and # symbols), you also can insert spaces (pauses) for menu interactions. Numbers can be dialed with buttons in the application window, with the keyboard or inserted from clipboard. DTMF Dial also has lists like any modern telephone has: «phone book» and «last dialed numbers», and you are only one click away from all numbers in those lists.
