SMTP Preprocessor is a tool for SMTP server administrator. This minimalist tool allows powerful on-the-flow pre-processing of SMTP messages. It can be useful for cutting the loading of the main server software, quick black-listing and rejecting other abuse attempts, and for some much more advanced things well cover below.
When SMTP Preprocessor is started for the first time, it may seem a bit confusing: the main window is showing just a brief SMTP message log. All the magic is done through the most natural for any admin simple ini-file. But what you can do there is really magic.
First, that is rejection. There is a number of ways to reject unwanted things: you can setup an IP black-list (reject connection by IP), black-list a sender (reject MAIL command), reject RCPT («recipient») command by a number of terms, such as recipient address, domain or combination. Finally, you can reject commands by the order they follow, connections limit, and other parameters.
The more advanced tasks I promised before are rewriting / replacing of some fields in responses (sent to sender) and SMTP envelope (sent to you SMTP server); the ways to get the job done are really easy and flexible.
SMTP Preprocessor is extremely fast and flexible, and it logs all its actions to a special log file.
