Real Desktop Light is a free system add-on for your Windows-based system that turns your familiar GUI into a three-dimensional board organized similarly to real-life workplaces. Files and folders are represented by textured objects that you can manipulate as if they were actual objects on your office table. You can select a group of objects (for instance, Word documents) and stack them on top of each other or throw a folder you only need occasionally into the far corner of the board. The functionality of the free version is limited compared with the commercial versions, but it still gives you a good idea about the capabilities of the Reality Engine it’s based on: 3D sound, anti-aliasing, reflective surfaces, low CPU and RAM usage, realistic physics and much more! The software works with Windows XP and Vista and has very modest system requirements, so you will have no problems launching it on your computer.
