Money love count. When left unattended, little by little our money sneaks out of our pockets, and we feel the constant lack of it until we start counting it.
Although personal finance applications are supposed to help us keep our financial records in order, a lot of those applications require users to do a lot of confusing configuration and preparation works.
Why bother with all that when you want to just enter receipts and expenses and see the overall picture of your finances? WIMP is the straight-forward solution that allows managing personal finances, laying out a budget and monitoring how the budget is observed. But the main trick about it is that it’s not an actual application but a spreadsheet solution that can be run on literally any computer under any platform.
Despite that it requires a spreadsheet application like Microsoft Excel, the simplicity of the solution compensates the «inconvenience» of the requirement to have the «host» program. All you’d need to do in order to start managing your finances properly is to enter your financial transactions and associate them with the respective categories: salary, home loan, groceries, etc. If something seems unclear, helpful tips can be found right on the screen.
The first few questions you can answer with WIMP right off are: where your do your money comes from and in what amount, how much of that have you spent, and how much do you still have in your account. You can enter as many accounts as you wish: cash, accounts receivable (people that owe you), bank account, etc. and keep track of the money flow in all these accounts. All the records are accompanied by illustrative charts that show the visual picture of your calculations. With the picture of what you have on hand, you can try optimizing your cash flow and design a budget that would help you «meet the financial ends». Simply enter the estimates for each expense item and then compare your budget with your actual cash flow, registering the difference in the Adjust column. Actually, you can create a number of budgets and compare which one would fit you best.
How about buying something you cannot afford without borrowing some cash from a bank? With WIMP you can determine the terms that best fit your budget and earning capacities and create the repayment schedule. To keep up with the schedule and your other obligations, you can take advantage of the program’s financial reminders: just enter those in the special form, and you will have the due dates and the explanations right before your eye.
Just a few minutes a day spent with this program can bring you to a whole new financial level and help you achieve your financial goals.
