Image SXM - a comprehensive tool for managing microscope images

Image SXM is a free Mac application that is a version of the public image analysis software called NIH Image. The software supports SAM, SCM, SEM, SFM, SLM, SNOM, SPM and STM images from over 40 scanning microscope systems. Additionally, the application supports 17 non-SXM formats. You can use Image SXM on several generations of Apple computers, from 68K Macs to PowerMacs. Image SXM automatically adjusts grayscale levels for more contrast and image details and offers several advanced features for image manipulations. You can create your own look-up tables, change the Z scale of images without changing their calibration, as well as select a region of interest (ROI) to define a subtraction plane and then subtract that plane from the whole image.
