The software supports SNMP protocol based on SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c standard, and is capable of processing both GET (reading from device) and SET (writing to device) commands. In addition, SAEAUT SNMP OPC Server support receiving SNMP Trap messages from SNMP devices, which helps to significantly reduce the network traffic between the server and devices. Data structure in SNMP devices is always described through a MIB database. Therefore, the SAEAUT SNMP OPC Server includes the powerful MIB browser tool which provides information about all available SNMP device variables. The MIB browser supports both ON-LINE browsing of variables from connected SNMP devices, and OFF-LINE browsing of variables from associated device MIB file.
The software also comes with the integrated IP Scanner tool which is able to find all available SNMP devices in a specific range of IP addresses. For network devices that cannot be managed through SNMP protocol, the SAEAUT SNMP OPC Server provides the special «Heartbeat» functionality which allows user to get the basic information from devices that are unmanageable, using the PING command.
For exacting customer needs, the SAEAUT SNMP OPC Server provides the possibility to write their own J-Script, allowing them to extend it with a new functionality.
